Hi!
So I'm a noob when it comes to beardies...
Goliath is 2in long ish. So about 5 weeks according to breeder.
His girl came with him and she is 7 weeks (bout 3-3 1/2 in)
Just recently separated, but have the same setup.
10 gallon tank w/ screen top (was told by beardie forum that screen is bad?)
Have a rock under basking spot, but it is not a heat emmiter. Also a branch that he climbs up to a higher basking spot.
Reptiglow 10.0 desert( till i can get a reptisun)
75 W basking bulb, temps range from 81(cool side) to 106 (basking spot).
They were eating crickets gutloaded with repashy bug burger and kale and squash. They are eating fresh kale and squash and sometimes tomato.
They were separated bc Bella is the bigger one and was stealing food and basking spots, but they never fought, that being said, Bella is on the above feeding schedule.
Goliath was wasting away, literally. 1 week ago. He has been forced pedialyte, baby food sweet potatoes and sweet peas. He is now actively participating in the feedings and lapps up the food. Ate 5 crickets, but now is just baby food ( not willin gto eat crix) however i still am concerned. He sleeps ALOT! are beardies naturally lazy? He does get up and explore, but not nearly as much as when i first got him. Today he ran for the first time in a week. But then he saw me, climbed up my arm, down my shirt and went right to sleep.
He seems very clingy, like when I try to put him away he holds onto my finger amd jumps up my arm. He is very friendly but hates to be put away, an dis very sleepy/ lazy.
Am i doing something wrong? Breeder said im doing everything right, and the baby food and pedialyte is per breeder rx.
I am not complaining about the clingy, its nice to have a baby who doesnt puff up and hiss when you reach into the cage, Im probably over reacting, I just dont understan dhim very much yet.
Also, getting ready to order feeders. Hornedworms, waxies, pheonix, crickets? I can get teeeny itty bitty horns from small pet feeders, but i need to know what is good to give them? ik variety is important at this age, I just need a little guidance.
J
Thanks in advance.
