    Ambanja Eating Sphagnum moss ??

I have some perches covered with sphagnum moss in my Ambanja enclosure, and I noticed some of the moss is disappearing. I thought it was just wearing off. But I just saw my Ambanja take a big bite out of it and eat it ! ..... Should I be worried ?? I just removed those perches and will never...

    Hornworm Eggs....

5 days ago I posted FREE HORNWORM EGGS...... And I am surprised that no one took me up on my offer ??? !!! So I collected hundreds of eggs, and they have started hatching now. I have more than enough for me. So tonight I decided it is better to kill all of the moths so that I will not have...

    Hornworm Eggs....

I had 60 Hornworm Pupae and so far 12 have turned to moths. This is my first attempt at eggs so I did not know what to expect. (I actually figured most would die and not complete their cycle) I have already gotten 400-500 eggs and it seems there is no end in sight. As they continue to become...

Opinions ? What type? He is about 7 months old and puffed up because camera is invading his space.

Yes I will be looking for his 'mail order bride' and want to be sure I pick the right girl for him. His mother was wild caught, and his father is unknown. I actually know his locale. But, I want to see what others see in him, without them knowing who his mom is. Maybe his daddy was something...

    CRICKET EGG BIN MEDIUM PROBLEMS

I keep the tupperware dirt container for the eggs in a medium sterilite tote. Then as they hatch I just lay egg crates in there and every few minutes I tap them off into the bigger grow-out bin.

    Feeding Tomato Hornworms

I got this same kinda situation.... I will soon have about a zillion eggs. I wont know what to do with all of them. Way too many. I would give them away for free just so some others chameleons can eat good.

    shipment gone wrong

I know he is reluctant to trust humans, but it is most important to get fluids in him. Like a child who does not take their medicine, you just have to do it. I would pinch his jaws on both sides, (gently) to get him to open a little and go drop by drop. He may hate you at first, but if you...

    shipment gone wrong

I would try to puree his food and try to syringe feed him. Mash up worms, add a little water and drip it in his mouth. Maybe when his mouth heals from tongue loss and gets some fluids he will be strong enough to eat on his own. Good luck with him. Let us know how he does.

    Receptive or Gravid ?

I thought maybe my Trioceros sternfeldi - (Rudis) was gravid, but maybe not. So I put them together today and he immediately went to her and mounted her (see picture) In all fairness she did try to run away. Would he have been allowed to do that if she was gravid? But then she kept chasing him...

    Advice on Alfred's appetite

I am actually having a similar problem with my Rudis... I have not seen him eat for like a week now, but he just pooped two big normal poops. He has also been hanging around in the cold bottom of the cage so I have been worrying. My female eats as soon as I put anything in there with her. He...

Weight of a Trioceros Sternfeldi (Rudis) Chameleon

OMG... I am such an idiot. Old age I guess ! I did not have my reading glasses on when I read the scale. Today I weighed them again and it said .3 and .4 .... I didn't see the decimal point without my glasses. I put my glasses on and realized that it was set to ounce not grams. Duh ! I feel...

I found a lady on facebook.... look up " ChamEO " she does Chameleon Education and Outreach. I will definately be following her and her facebook page. She had a group of 5 Rudis and their weights were, 11,11,9,8,5..... So I would guess the average adult weight to be between 8 & 11.

Weight of a Trioceros Sternfeldi (Rudis) Chameleon

Yes please... actually why not weigh all three so we can know how much a gravid female weighs as well. My male weighs 3 grams and my female weighs 4 grams. That just seems so small to me. I am wondering if it is accurate. I used a postal scale, put a bowl on it and set to zero... then put my...
