Got my first chameleon! Meet Carl.

When we brought our Mister Li-zard into our home we were told he was a Veiled chameleon, turned out he was a Graceful chameleon. But, we love him lots anyway.

Waiting to be held to eat

You're very right about us not being completely ready for our chameleon. I did some research before bringing him into our home but did not do nearly enough. As I'm coming across things we're doing wrong I'm doing my best to correct them as soon as possible. With all the help on this site I feel...

Waiting to be held to eat

I bought a humidity gauge today to stick in Mister Li-zard's cage and also some crickets to try to get him to start eating them again. I cut up some apple, carrot and butter lettuce for the crickets to eat before feeding them to him.

Waiting to be held to eat

Thank you for your reply. I've got to go to town today anyway and I'll get him some more crickets to try again. I put his wax worms in a small little cup by a spot he likes to sit at. One of his plant's vines holds it in place since it's so light. After bringing him home in February he ate...

Waiting to be held to eat

I'm sorry I didn't word it better. He has days where he eats between 2-5 worms daily. Then he has days where he won't eat for 2-3 days. I've noticed when my daughter holds him on the days he hasn't eaten yet he will sometimes go right back in the cage and go eat a couple of worms. He will eat...

    Reptile Hammock?

I bought one and ended up using it to put his plant with vines on it. I cut it so it holds the plant perfectly and the vines hang all down the cage.

Waiting to be held to eat

Thank you so much for your feedback. We adopted him less than a couple of months ago. I've been doing even more research on chameleons since bringing him home as I want him to be healthy and happy with us. He came to us in a smaller sized enclosure of 16"x16"x24". My daughter saved up her...

Waiting to be held to eat

When we first brought home Mister Li-zard he went on a 8 day hunger strike. We quit holding him right away and offered him some different types of worms to eat. Since then if he stops eating a day or so we quit holding him daily to get him to eating again. Now I'm noticing if he doesn't eat for...

    Why do you own chameleons?

We have several other type pets in our family and my 12 year old daughter decided she would like a chameleon as "her" personal pet. Shortly after she told me that we found a chameleon being rehomed on Craigslist. Since adopting him we have fallen in love with our Mister Li-zard.

I put my little guy to bed at around 9 pm and he gets up between 8 and 9 in the morning.

    super worm addiction

My cham won't eat crickets anymore. The people I got him from only fed him meal worms and the occasional cricket. After a hunger strike I enticed him to eat again with waxworms and phoenix worms. Now, that's all he'll eat. He won't even eat the meal worms anymore.

    Mister Li-zard eating breakfast

After misting down Mister Li-zard's cage and putting his food cup back in his cage my daughter was able to video him eating. We adore this little guy so much.

What's the most liked misting system?

Thank you both for the quick replies. Our chameleon is technically my daughter's baby but I guess my upcoming birthday will be a good excuse to get him a Mist king starter kit.

What's the most liked misting system?

We just upgraded our chameleon's enclosure to the Zoo Med open air 24"x24"x48" one. I'm thinking of buying a misting system for Mister Li-zard. I wanted to ask and see what systems other people are using and what price range they paid. I appreciate any and all feedback.

    New to Chams- Enclosure question

My daughter is 12 and she's the reason we brought a chameleon into our home. I thought I'd researched pretty good on their care and was so happy to find this site and learn even more helpful info to make his life better.

    New Cham Owner

I have a large Tupperware type bin that has small air holes drilled all over the lid of it that I keep my crickets in. From what I've read it's rare for a chameleon to drink from a water dish. I mist my guy about four times a day and when he's thirsty I see him drink the water droplets off the...

So in love with this little guy

When my daughter decided she wanted to add a chameleon to our home I never knew how much I could love one. He is the cutest little fellow. My daughter and I adore him to pieces. Here are some pictures she has taken of our beloved Mister Li-zard.

    Bigger Enclosure?

I ordered mine the larger Zoo Med enclosure in the 24"x24"x48" size. I got it from the petmountain.com website. If you give them your email address they send you a 10% off your order coupon. When I used the coupon code my cage was under $90 with free shipping. It got to me in five days too.
