My panther shed in sections, but the shed seemed to stop up around the spine, mid section of the spine, leaving what appeared to be a section of spine that needed to finish but it didnt. I changed his light and gave him sunlight and he went into a full body shed. It was fairly quick but that...
Vines
I live in FL and I have cut vines that are hanging from the trees They look like oaks. I try to cut the dried out ones, and that are still very sturdy. I wash them and attach(Wrap Around) plastic leaves from the pet shop with tie wraps. So far they are hardy he does not eat them and they...
He is taking in plenty of fluids. I saw him snatch a super worm off the screen today. Its the first time I have seen him take a worm in weeks. He has only been eating crickets since he started shedding which has lasted a couple of weeks. First it was sectional shedding, followed up shortly after...
Sunshine
I noticed that quite often when I put my Panther in the sun he would start shedding in the next day or so. I also found that when my Panther was shedding (partial) it seemed to be taking too long. I changed his lamp and brought him outside for some sunlight for a few hrs he than broke...
I always soak my Beardy I was wondering if you could soak a Cham I know they can swim. I thought it would have the same effect on it. I check his cage thoroughly. I am getting worried, I hope tomorrow I find a deposit. Thanks for the reply.
My Panther is just finishing a shed and was not eating much, if he is not crapping should I soak him in warm water like I do my Bearded Dragon for impaction?
Bottled Water
I use distilled. Bottled water can still have certain poisons in it that are not filtered out thru normal filtration such as medications (flushed) detergents, pesticides(lawn care). All these things go back into the water table. I dont know about micro nutrients. I would think all...
Crickets eating vines
I always put something for the crickets to eat when I put them in the enclosure. That way they are gut loading while waiting to be eaten/and not trying to eat him. It seems they like the inner coating on the vines just as well. At first I thought it was just the coating...
I noticed that one of my flexible fake vine with the smooth coating was being nibbled on by crickets! The vines with the rough surface has no cricket damage. I didn't know that this could happen. If the crickets eat them and your Cham eats the cricket you could have problems.
Carefully
Distract him with one hand and slide the other one under his front legs and neck. Once your under him he should chill out and grab hold. You can always mist him into a trance and scoop him up.
Hidden crickets
I try to remove all crickets at night but for the few that hide from me, I always leave a little cricket chow or collard greens on the floor to give them food. If you come back inside and turn on the lights you will see the sneaky ones munching on the greens and not you cham.
Well he started with a sectional shed, head legs, spine. He was not eating very well during this. Than I took him outside for a couple hrs of sun and also changed his lamp and he went into a very heavy full body shed. The full body shed has taken about a week and its now almost complete. I am...
Sunshine
Do you ever bring him out in the Sunshine? When I first got mine it seemed like every time I let him out in the Sun for an hr a day on weekends, he started to shed within 24 hrs! I dont know if it was a coincidence. It seemed like he was always shedding. Now he is shedding in sections...
