I don't know if you guys remember the thread about Waldo being treated for an R.I and tear duct infection.
Well.... He hasn't eaten in days, and he is not drinking. His eyes are sunken in and he is very dehydrated. He is now lethargic and is barely moving.... This is a huge upset. He was...
Administering Baytril / Waldo has two infections
So I got back from the vet today and found out that Waldo has an infected tear duct and a respiratory infection. I was given eyedrops and baytril. To administer the Baytril, I was told to open his mouth, stick the syringe deep into his mouth...
I had a thread earlier about Waldos eye and tongue not working correctly. He would close his eye for short periods of time, and his aim and stickiness of his tongue wasn't the best. It got better awhile after I administered saline drops and vitamin A. Here is a link to the thread...
Here are updated pictures of my 4 month old Blue Bar Ambilobe Panther.
If someone could show me how to embedded the video, that would be great. :)

And the pictures.
Yesterday Peaches ate a bee. Now when she tries to eat, she doesn't shoot out her tongue. She only extends it about an inch. I highly doubt she's being lazy, because she chases after the food like crazy.
If it is a stinger in her tongue, how do I get it out? Does it come out on its own?
So today Peaches, my 6 month old female blue bar Ambilobe was sunning. She saw a dragonfly and snatched it really quickly. Took her awhile to eat. Its kind of hard to see, but in the last photo, you see a wing sticking out of her mouth. :p
I also realized something. Whenever I take any...
I live in Miami. With the weather cooling down so its not unbearably hot, I was wondering if it would be okay to move Peaches and Waldo outside. They both have reptibreezes so that scares me a little. Its not the strongest thing so I wonder if anything (Like a hawk) would be able to rip it...
I was very recently having eye and tongue problems with my 4 month old Ambilobe, Waldo. He occasionally closed his eye, and it was getting worse. As for his tongue, he was starting to miss the crickets more frequently. I had tried giving him Vitamin A, and I tried saline drops. I tried the...
Very simple question here.
What are the effects of over supplementation? If you're supposed to use calcium pretty much every day, how do you over supplement? By dusting the crickets TOO much?
So I have some questions about Parsons. I remember reading that they are banned from being exported which is why they are so hard to acquire.
However, how and where do you get one at all?
How much do they generally cost?
Are they hard to care for compared to most other chameleons?
So I was dropping my mom off at work since I need her car and my
car is at the dealer. I made a right turn and got t boned at 45-50 mph. The car pushed me over the median and into on coming traffic. It was at rush hour this morning so I don't know how I didn get hit again whn I got pushed...
So since I figured out my schedule for college, I have come to the conclusion that I will have enough time for more chameleons. While taking a weekend to Orlando for Islands of Adventure, I decided to locally pick up a 6 month old Ambilobe female from Dez (Chamalotchameleons). She is SO sweet...
Chameleon Info:
Male Ambilobe Panther chameleon. DOH- 6/29/11. He has been in my care since 9/27/11.
Handling - 1-2 times per day. Usually its to get him outside in his freerange to feed him.
Feeding - 10-20 Crickets per day, usually in the morning after I wake up. I only feed him when he's...
I have noticed in lots of pictures that chameleons raise one of their hands. Does this mean they feel threatened and scared? My guy does this when i'm trying to pick him up. However, he doesn't hiss, bite, or flare up, so I don't know whether or not he feels threatened.
edit: Like in my avatar.
So Waldo is outside sunning right now in his freerange. About 10 minutes ago, I saw him focus on something. I was a bit confused and then, BOOM! I saw him eat a wild anole. Mind you the thing was like half the size of Waldo. I think thats enough food for him today. :p
Most chameleons love going outside. They enjoy basking, taking in the UVB rats, roaming around, etc. However, Waldo seems to be the opposite. Whenever I take him outside, he fires and flares up for about the first 10-15 minutes as soon as he gets outside. After that is when he seems to be...
