IMG_6395.jpg Today I rescued this chameleon. somebody dropped her off at a pet store and the store was not doing anything to make her feel better so I talked to the manager and said will take her and also take her to my vet. He said ok. The vet said she is anemic and has an eye infection and dehydrated. Started her on her new med and now time to make her feel better. Some nice luke warm baths daily and will start to hand feed tomorrow. I think she had enough today. She looks happy all ready IMG_6396.jpg

Sorry I can't figure out how to rotate the photo

Thank you. Every time I went in I wanted her and after I saw that she was not getting the care I could giver her I said time was up

Looks like she could be holding eggs. Worth setting up a laying bin & putting her in, see what happens. Is she drinking & eating ok?
Good luck with her.

Hi Johny. right now she's very anemic and very dehydrated I have been giving her the shower treatment and she's been drinking I have also hand fed since she's very weak and can't catch her own food and today I was able to feed her six crickets two meal worms and a small hornworm. she is very weak I'm not sure if she has eggs I asked the vet and he didn't think so either. I'm going to wait about a week or so until she gets a little bit stronger. I do have a bucket with dirt in the cage now but she's too weak to walk up and down so far. I think she can tell that we're helping her when we walk into the room she looks at the cage door and when I put my hand in the cage she comes to me. this afternoon when I got home she had pooped and what amazes me is that the poop was all dirt from my guess what she was getting from the pet store because she couldn't catch her crickets.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that I can really save her life she is such a sweet little girl

Just hang in there. If she were to look like she really needed to lay, you could dig her a hole and sit her in it. But as long as you don't see real evidence of eggs, I would just keep on with what you are doing. Do you have something to inject water into all her feeders? Hydrating her is most important right now. Those showers help a lot.

hi laurie. Yes I'm a diabetic and have plenty of needles. I shoot the crickets with water and I hand feed her. It takes her a min to get the cricket as she only has one eye since the other is still infected. Today I had the dripper going and my wife caught her drinking IMG_6411.JPG

Tonight she has her tail all curled up. Before her tail would just lay stright.

So I have had karma almost a week now and so far I have to say she is doing great. She eats well and takes her meds like a champ, today she finally went to the bathroom and it looks better then the first one so I hope we're on the right track.

karma

Hi guys just a quick update. Karma is doing great. She has gained weight and her eye is all better due to medication and eye drops from the vet, she eats like a champ. Still have to hand feed. Her tongue is starting to come out more I'm sure in a few weeks she should be able to shoot her tongue out for her food.

I'll try to get an updated photo tonight

Still no photo sorry. I'll try in the am, we are so happy that she is doing great, I have to weigh her again tomorrow to see how much she has gained .

I am very happy for both you and Karma. It seems to be working well. Keep letting us know how she is doing. Let me know if I can help.

This is a great and feel good thread Miguel!!!
It takes some courage and compassion to take on a project like you did, and when the results are so positive, it encourages others to attempt such great things!

Excuse me, doesn't that say photos by Miguel??

Great news to hear she is doing better everyday. I hope she continues to improve under your care.
