Question about Veiled Chameleons

For anyone who has a veiled chameleon I was wondering, did your veiled get 'grumpy' or aggressive as it got older? I have heard most of them do but then some others have said no they didn't. I know all chameleons are different but I was wondering.

depends on how you work with them. i have heard that veileds are the grumpier of the chams. i kind of agree bc my panther started out grumpy but has mellowed out and our veileds are doing the opposite. then again. because he was grumpy we made it a point to handle him more and i guess we lacked on the veileds and that might be why. our rescue adult veiled Barnaby is grumpy while in the cage but once he is on your hand he is fine

My veiled came grumpy, but he had a less than stellar life prior to us.. and he's over a year old, so he's pretty much set in his hating-me ways.

My first was lovely but i had him from 3months old and handled him regularly. My second was older and hadnt been handled much and he was evil. Both were males.

they are like us humans. everything can be ok and something might upset you but for the most i found my veiled to become more friendly as he gains more trust.

My Cham was calmer when I first got her "Had her sense she was 3-4 months old" and now she is about 7-8 months and man she is a grump. She always hisses at me while she's in the cage but when I take her out she is lovely as can be :p. I also have 2 babies "3-4 months old" and they are calm but we will find out soon if it will change.

My dad's male is 5 months and is generally wary of us humans. My female is about the same, if a little less so.

We just built both of them custom cages where one entire wall opens, and before we had to reach our hands in a small door and dig around. I think the more open, larger arrangement will help.

I also think that getting bigger and having access to hand-feeders will help. Right now they live on crickets and dubias. Not exactly hand-feeders

My veilded is out for blood ! I handle him when cleaning and stuff but in order to do that I have to treat him like a snake and putt my fingers by his head quick so he can't bit! Even when putting his feed cup full of feeders next to him he goes after my hand ! Crazy lizard but I love him! He knows who boss tho! Its just how they are .. They are agressaive naturaly

mine didnt turn out so bad. i got mine when he was just a green little youngster. but i wouldnt say mine is the nice, reach for you hand everytime you come by type either. more neutral. "oh you wanna hold me? oh ok." "time to go back? oh ok"
