Poorly Veiled, Burns? Markings?

Hi guys,
I have recently been forced to working away and despite countless notes and "tutor lessons" i have come home to find Chamy a little under the weather.
Here's the notes and pics hoping one of you guys can possibly identify it before i get her to a vets next week.

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled, female, 3 years old, had her from a hatchling
Handling - she isn't the friendly type so barely never!
Feeding - Main diet of silent brown crickets, around 7-9 large every other day (always crickets left) feeders are gut loaded on garden weeds and veg. weeds aren't sprayed)
Supplements - suspect i've been ill advised by only using calci-dust on every feed since owning her.
Watering - Auto misting system which soaks the viv 3 times a day for about 30-40 seconds. Very rarely see her drinking
Fecal Description - solid and white, few orange colours.
History - Suspect a huge overdose in calci powder, the feeding box was covered!

Cage Info:
Cage Type - wooden sides and back glass slide front, 100cm wide, 100cm tall 70cm deep
Lighting - All lucky reptile, can't remember what UV lamp is used but it is correct for chameleon, 100w day glo halogen
Temperature - basking spot is around 84-86, unsure on temperature away from there, much cooler obviously. lowest temp at night is 79-80, digital gauge and thermostat
Humidity - average humidity around 65-75% frequent misting and occasional fogger on dry days. stand alone humidity gauge
Plants - 6 live plants, all safe with chameleon
Placement - in my bedroom, remotely located air fans to vent viv (low noise and away from her) viv located on the floor.
Location - UK, south east

Weird markings on her head, apparently been like it for about 2 months and hasn't got much worse, she has stopped eating (bored of crickets i suspect!) and has shed her skin since it was noticed. Generally apart from being grumpy (as always) she seems happy enough, hiding and chilling as usual, having a wander about! bit of a wierd one! hope you guys can help though :)

Hi there!

Yes sadly that looks like a burn to me. I think 100w is probably too hot for a female, her basking spot should be around 80f or 27c but your temps are not that far off. You need to make sure her basking spot is a good few inches under the light so she cant reach the really hot parts of the enclosure. I would take her to the vet and get that casque checked on if I were you.

Now the poop should be brown with a white part. If this white part is orange then that could be a sign of dehydration. Her eyes look a little sunken in which is also a sign of dehydration. You may want to up your misting and add a dripper.

For supplements you would want to use plain calcium at most feedings and you would also like to use calcium with d3 twice a mont and multivitamin twice a month. The d3 will help her process the plain calcium, otherwise there is a risk that it could build up in her system. The multivitamin does a lot of things for eyesight, skin health, tounge health etc.

You may want to try some different feeders such as horn worms, silk worms, locusts, roaches, butterworms just because a varied diet is really good for them.
you could afford to drop the night time temps a bit because they like it to be cool at bed time. This will promote a good sleep and helps thier system slow down foe sleep.

Has she ever laid eggs? I knoe this does not relate to your problem but i'd be interested to know :)

i hope this was helpful, please feel free to ask any more questions you may have !

Very very helpful thank you! :-D
I'll sort those point out asap, she is all booked in at a vets for a double check :)

She has indeed layed 3 batches of eggs (usually always after a deep clean so she can throw sand out everywhere and make a mess again :) naturally!!)

Hello, welcome to the forum :) I agree with everything AngieL says, also I think your gutloading could be a bit better. Apart from the burn she looks good though, so you must be doing well with her. Dropping temps a bit and food intake will help to limit the amount of eggs she cycles so will hopefully prolong her life. Here is a great all-round caresheet for Veileds - https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/chameleonsinmyhouse/395-veiled-chameleon-care-sheet.html
And some more gutloading info. - https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/sandrachameleon/75-feeder-nutrition-gutloading.html
You can also buy some pretty good commercial gutload products like Repashy bug burger (which is the one I use).

I'm glad I was of some help. This forum had taught me all I know and I'm so greatfull for that! Im happy you're taking her to the vet, you have to let us know how it goes cause I'm attached now :D

They like to try you don't they? My girl hasnt laid eggs yet but she likes to poop everywhere! Especially just after the plants have been washed :)
