New Owner

Hey guys!

New to the site and new to chameleon owning. Just a few questions in ym early stages of owning my favorite pet! So, I have a young male veiled chameleon. I have had him for about a month and everything has gone quite smoothly.
1. his color is looking a little faded, should i be worried??
2. he hates when im in the cage, I've tried a few things for him to get used to me but I can't get close enough to handle sometimes. Cage cleaning he is just fine but once I try to put him back in he hisses and turns veeerrrryy dark. what can I do to be able to handle him a little more and a little easier for the both of us??

Hi and welcome to the forums and chameleon ownership. If he is looking a little faded, or whitish in color, he more than likely is getting ready to shed. Has he shed recently? When they are young they can shed every couple of weeks or so as they grow. As far as you handling him, it can be a process. Some take to handling easily and others will fight it! lol Try feeding him from your hand so he gets used to you and associates your hand with good things!
