    Sorry...I've just been busy over the Thanksgiving holiday. I'll try to be on more frequently going forward. Oh wait...not me??? Sorry! :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

My Chameleon just had babies...not expected...please help

Welcome capedwarf. Unfortunately the last post on the thread you replied to is more than two years old so I don't think the member is still in need of advice/help regarding the side striped babies! Not a bid deal but just wanted you to be aware that it may be a moot thread at this point.

    Chameleon eating plant soil!!

I understand. I was just curious if you were aware of any specific environmental or dietary contributors that would trigger a chameleon to eat soil. Sounds like it's still kind of a mystery but, as you stated, they will go to great lengths to get it when they feel compelled to do so. Thanks...

    New Shed

Nope! It's perfectly natural, of course. I just clean the shedded skin out of the cage aftewards. I think some people might mist their chamemeleons to help with removal and I think there's a product on the market that's supposed to be used to help with shed removal but I haven't found doing...

    My own rain system

I just take my power sprayer, stand about 15 feet back from Rico's cage and blast the thing allowing the water to spray through the the screen and all over him. The biggest problem with this method is sometimes he'll get caught in the stream and forced against the back of the cage so I really...

    Chameleon eating plant soil!!

Hey Todnedo - I was reading through this thread and saw your reply. Personally, we haven't experienced this behavior with Rico yet and I've placed large, polished river rocks over the soil in his plant pots to prevent him from doing this because of the concern with possible impaction and/or...

    Zeus needs help!!!

Hey!!!! That's AWESOME NEW, karstar! :D :D :D :D Glat to hear that Zeus seems to be on the mend and hopefully some of the adjustments you've made are helping him! As for the Calcium without D3, I think that it's pretty important to find some and start supplementing him with it sooner...

    Hughs First Shower! = )

Based on what I've seen and read I think you're doing a fine job, PrettyInInk87. I am by no means an expert and have only recently started keeping chameleons myself. (Well, I should say a chameleon since we only have one!) But, to your point, there is a lot of information out there and...

    November '10 Photo Contest

Nice to see our picture of Rico made it into the final 16 though I'm not sure it's really a great shot. Truth be told, I vote for another picture that I thought was much better but, again, I'm glad to see Rico's being considered. He looks a little surprised in the picture which is why I went...

    Misting System Recommendations

I forgot to respond to your question regarding the seconds timer. This is actually something I struggle with myself and originally didn't opt to get it because I didn' think it would be necessary. Most digital timers allow you to program down to the minute and which would be about the amount...

    Misting System Recommendations

Hi Dawniegirl. I ordered the start kit for $99 and added the seconds timer. We only have one cham and I'm told that the starter kit is more than sufficient. I did not add the ZipDrip valve because I just couldn't see the value in it based on my setup. If it does drip to such an extent that...

I think my chameleon been poisoned :(

He posted what he believes to be the source of the potential poisoning saying it is Beaphar Deep Clean which is apparently a cage cleaning solution. I've never heard of it so I searched it and found the following...
