Weird bug

I know this thread isn't about chameleons sorry, but it's the only forum I enjoy using and seeing as we have some bug experts out there I was hoping you guys could tell me what on earth this is , my brother found it.

it looks like a hornworm.

where was it found? near any tomatoes/

is it green colored?

That's definitely not a horn worm. A better picture would help.

Google pics of a brown hornworm. That is what it looks like.

My brother took it with him haha, he found it in the garden on a plant. He never said on which one, (He's not here now, he loves bugs).

After googling the brown hornworm, it looks exactly like that!

Its not a manduca sexta or tomato/tobacco horn worm like we feed to our chameleons, its a difference species. Looks like a sphinx moth larvae.

Check out this website: http://msue.anr.msu.edu/news/hornworm_caterpillars_the_big_cats_of_the_vineyard. They have pictures of various hornworms, even a hot pink one. They all produce some type of sphinx moth. They, like the caterpillars can be quite spectacular. We had one hanging out on our screen door a couple of years ago that was very large and had purple on its wings. Very cool.
