veiled chameleon gappin and taking deep breath after given medication

i have a veiled chameleon approx. 6-8 months and after i give him medication when he opens his mouth at me sometimes he will make some wheezing noise or kind of like a whistle is this normal after given oral medication from the fridge? his lungs do not fill up with air and he doesnt gasp for air normally in the cage except when i give him medication

You should let the meds, just that dose, warm to room temp also give him water right after the medication. What kind of medication and what is it for?

Its possible you got some of the medication in its airway.
