Schefflera's Anywhere?

I can't find decent sized schefflera's anywhere around or on the internet. The only things that I find are for seeds or clippings... Other than some plants that were around $150, is that really how much they go for? Does anyone know anywhere to get them at a reasonable price?

I don't know if it's the same for you in NY, but I just saw a decent schefflera at walmart for like $25. Lowes or home depot seem to have them often as well. I think that you should be able to find a better deal than $150!

I got mine off of Amazon from a place called Hirts's Garden. It was very nice! It came in a 6" pot I transferred it to a bigger pot when I got it and after 2 weeks it's about 2 feet tall. I paid like $15 for it. I also happened upon a smaller one at Whole Foods of all places for $5! That one is now probably about 1 1/2 feet.

i have 3 huge 4 ft tall ones i could sell you but i live on ohio

i got mine from the lowe's gardening center. i had to call all over town looking for them seeing how i got my plants at the end of winter. i repotted them all and sprayed them with a white vinegar/water mix and let them air out for a week or 2 before setting it all up since they came from a regular place and not a nursery though.

I got mine from lowes for $9.99. Repotted in 50/50 soil/perlite mix and its doing well. That said I'm probably going to repot into LECA as I keep getting tops of gnats as my soil never dries out :(

Thanks for the info guys and girls... Found one for sale around me, walmart had it 14 marked down to 6... steal. Mind if I ask what LECA is because I had some issues with my soil never drying. Trying to avoid gnats and anything else that may grow. Also has anyone ever tried adding earthworms to their planters see if their dirt is healthier/plants grow better?

LECA is lightweight expanded clay aggregate. It is used for hydroponics.

If you use a soil mix that does not have so much perlite, it will not hold as much water. I use just plain topsoil mix and haven't had an issue with gnats.

I've never added anything to the soil. I would take it outside once a week at least to get some natural UV and give it a nice soaking. I usually bring the whole cage out so the chameleon can soak up the UV as well.

Thanks for the info, I have my new schefflera in an all organic potting soil. The link below has pictures of my new setup for my T. Hoehnelli male.
