Need Help!

You are doing a fantastic job in bringing this cham back to his full potential. You should be commended on listening and following everyone's advice - and thank you for saving this guy's life! :D

You have a lovely face, and please don't misjudge some comments on here, it's so common for people to join with a problem that they insist is nothing to do with their husbandry and refuse any suggestions made, so some members can be a bit bristly. But you are doing a fantastic job and it's awesome to follow your story!

the temp. cage is a big jump forward for the guy, good job and thats a good friend you got to help out!

In that last picture he is looking pretty bright colored which is leaps and bounds over the initial dark colors.

The fact that every change you have made has been a positive one will help his recovery.

thank you very much guys. i appreciate your kind words. i will keep up work with him and thanks for the suggestion on the towels.

Help Please

Hi all< im sorry if im doing this wrong not sure how the sight works yet, i wanted to post something new but not sure if a reply is the way to do it>>

if someone could please help me or assist me on my flap neck cam. ive had her about 4months now

If im not mistaken its a she and is estimated to be 1 year and approx 4 to 5 inches in size, the cam has a very large well kept cage with a black like shade clock around it. lots of plants and a section for hight, cam treated wood a water feature a few real pot plants. I have a large uv light on about 12 hours a day and a ceramic heater light near her sleeping place at night as well as close her top cage with a blanket at night. she eats mainly crickets and we have caught flies before that she seems to have eaten. I Live in South Africa And its the first month of winter

my huge concern is she isnt eating hasnt for about just under a week, and as ive monitored her in the last few days ive noticed she hasnt been very active and has remained in the single spot she sleeps. her genearl colour is green with spots but now its been an extreamly light green almost white. Is it natural or should i be freaked out. i love this cam so much. ive taken her to a reptile specialist but they seem to know min on flap necks and said she is hibernating! is it possible? pls someone help please:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

Darren, welcome! You should start your own thread. It's less confusing to keep the discussions about each animal separate. Even though sometimes it seems like you have the same problem, the circumstances will probably be different so the advice will be different. That's easier when they are separate.

To start a thread, click the "New Thread" button on the left side of the page below the blue header bar. Open a new tab or window and go to the HOW TO ASK FOR HELP thread in this forum. Copy the questions there, paste them into your new topic and type your answers in. That will lessen the number of questions you get asked.

There are lots of really experienced people here, so hopefully you'll find help for your chameleon!

hey guys, just throwing out an update. so far no open eyes yet, but he seems to enjoy his current home.
i did get the new cage in the mail today, but the package was missing the corner connectors, so i cannot assemble the new habitat. :(
unfortunately they are closed at the moment so i will call them in the morning.

Awesome

I just read through all 9 pages and I have to send an internet high five your way man. It's great everything you've done for the cham and I'm really impressed with your quest for knowledge and effort in improving his life.

Cheers.

ill just get the pvc ones at a local store. it shouldnt be that big of a problem i think.

His eyes are opening a little more i think. in the shower today i could see little black slits where his eyes are usually formed closed. i got him some more variety of food to eat. a local member gave me some phoenix, horns, supers, and flys. super guy!

i got him to eat a little of those and he opened his mouth and began to recognize when i am trying to feed him on his own now. i think he is getting used to the schedule and doesnt mind. he is eating a little more each day too.

Bring one of the pipes with you, check in at the cashier so they know you brought it with you. It's just really hard to know for sure pvc pipe fits together if you don't actually try it out!

It sounds like he's making great progress. Sticking to a schedule is a really good idea, I think.
