Lay-bin soil mixture

I remember reading that mixing playsand and normal substrate would be good for a lay bin. One part substrate and one part playsand.
Any other recommendations? I have Eco-earth from zoo med and reptisand also from zoo-med.
I should also dampen the mixture in the bin right?
