Drainage system prototype

So I go to Tap Plastics today to get a quote on the stand.The lazy teenager working there tells me that for something this custom (we are just talking about the 5" stand here) it's gonna take around 2 weeks to complete and cost me around $150!!!!! There is no way in hell this is accurate, I was in there a couple of weeks ago and the manager or owner gave me a rough quote for $60 bucks including materials and a $1.75/minute labor fee.

I think this kid was just trying to get rid of me. He tried to show that they were busy by showing me a job board with maybe two jobs hanging on it.

This might mean back to the drawing board. I might try a website called ponoko.com that will they do custom laser cutting on various materials then ship you the pieces.

Your prototype looks like a brilliant design! I assume the cross peice on the floor over the drain is covered in screen to allow water to fall through. Looks neat and well thought!
