Hiya,

Free feed him. Let him eat whatever he wants if he isn't growing much. Are you weighing him? You wont know how much he is growing without weighing him. Get a fecal too. Parasites can cause issues too.

Oh, he's cute! I wasn't aware that Mister Twister had progeny. As has been mentioned, late growth spurts are not unheard of. I would follow Pssh's advice.

Haha thanks! :)

I went out and bought some supers and wax worms so until the bigger roaches arrive he'll be eating little baby roaches and wormy worms.

I think if you want to feed your guy a "wormy worm" you are better off not feeding waxworms, they are completely useless nutritionally and also have a risk of impaction. You are far better off using silkworms or hornworms, if you have a place where those are available to you!

I would definitely invest in a scale to help monitor his growth. It definitely helped me see how much mine were actually growing. I had two small guys much like yours (one male, one female.) The scale helped re-assure me that they were indeed growing and I just wasn't noticing it as much because I saw them on a daily basis. Fecals also assured me that there were no parasites that were adding/causing the issue.

Are you sure he is a male? He looks like a male, but I'm not sure if I see a bulge... Maybe he is a she-male? lol ;)
I would just try to give him more food, his fat pads looks a bit sunken, but maybe it's just the angle.

Waxworms can cause impaction? I realize they aren't very nutritions and I wouldn't give him a few unless it was absolutely necessary. Until tuesday he is still eating very small roaches and only one super/waxworm every 2 days. I plan on ordering silks and phenix worms as soon as the weather cools down. I wish I had some where I could pick them up locally! Thank you :)

I will definitely go get a scale! Also can vets do decals with out a full check up? I plan on taking Oliver in when he hits a year, just to make sure every thing is ok, but can I just bring the poop up or does it depend on the vet?

He's soooo cute!! I think he looks fine, but I'm no expert. Mine went through a phase where he was slightly underweight and lanky and then filled out and he seemed to grow slow at first. But now he's ten months old and looks like he's supposed to now.:p

I Seriously would not worry too much. I have a 6.5 month old Nosy Be and he honestly is not much different in size than yours. He is quite the skinny little dude but he has good appetite. I think they are just like any other animal, they just grow at different speeds and sometimes you end up with little guys and sometimes big guys as the end result. BTW most vets will check stool samples without an appointment. I simply grab up the most fresh stool I can get, bag it, and take it straight to the vet. Someone there will take it back, put it under the microscope and check for all parasites and let you know within minutes what they found.

Thank you! I really do hope so, he has me worrying crazy...I wish this heat would let up soon, I cant get any worms down here b/c they all die in 100+ weather transit...:(

I will share my expierence with you. I bought a perfect c/b melleri. He was 1 month old and weighted 4 grams. On the average his siblings now range from about 210 to 260 grams. Those are just the few I know about. All of the are now a year old. My Rah weights 62 grams. He has had everything I could offer. He eats, he poops, he drinks and sheds. Every think he should do except grow. He may be a runt but I love him to bits.:)
