Beginning to shed or fungal issue?

This is Scrapit! He is a new member to our family. We got him approximately three weeks ago at a reptile show. I'm trying to find a good vet in my area for him, but in the meantime I'm a little concerned about his midsection. Any thoughts on this? I haven't seen him drink recently but he's eating and pooping regularly.

I'm not sure about that but I would definally keep an eye on it. Where do you live? I might be able to recommend a vet.
