Will a 12" Linear T5 be enough over an 18x18x36 cage? This will be for a baby veiled. I plan on using either a reptisun linear T5 plus a basking setup, or the zoomed dual 18" hood with a reptisun CFL and basking bulb. Your help is appreciated, thank you.

I would recommend Linear T5 and separate basking. The CFL work but they just barely meet the needs of the chameleon so I never use or recommend them. I would however look into a fixture that is a little longer. 12" means the bulb is only like 10" long and once he gets older that area of light being produced won't be very large compared to him. See if you can't get at least an 18" or even 24" and then you can use the same fixture his whole life.

It's actually a 14" fixture with a 12" bulb. I don't think they make 10" T5 reptile bulbs. The next size up would be a 24" fixture, but I really don't want the fixture hanging over the sides of the cage.
