how long does the premade silkworm chow last? i only wanted to buy 2 but i realized i should buy more since the shipping is so expensive. i plan to start breeding and it could take up to a month or 2 before i actually have silk worms from silk moths. i was also wondering if its better to get the powdered chow for my case/is it a better buy overall. thanks!

Get the powdered form just to be safe. It takes longer than expected when breeding silkworms.

EDIT: The powder is very easy to make.
 
just incase just for future reference...what do you put in the powder exactly to make the chow? also, do most people get the powder instead? its supposed to make just as much for less money
 
Well you have to go to the super market to get a few ingredients your going to need 3 bananas 4 oranges 1 whole rotisserie chicken and 2 BBQ chicken CPK pizzas. Just messing with you haha all you need to do is add water easy as 123. :eek:

oh yea also.....what are the black balls that are inside the silk worm container? i bought one with chow inside and i never knew what they were. im hoping it isnt poo, but if it is do i need to dispose of it asap?
 
lol why are you hoping it isnt poo? did you ingest some? It is poo and it should be emptied when you think there is to much.

i was just hoping because it has built up a lot hahaha. i feel bad for them because they are just living in their poop hahahaah. i feel like they would get sick from it and die before i could feed them
 
hahahahahahahahah! i just dumped all the poop out. i felt so bad because they were living in literally almost a cup full of their poop haha. they were turning yellow and moist because it was being mixed with the chow color and stuff haha. hopefully they aren't sick. i wouldnt want them to die any other way except to cooper! hahah
