Sexing new Vieled Chameleon, believed to be male.

In the first picture there appears to be no spur, but in the second one, it looks like maybe a small spur. In the third pic a spur from what I can tell. So I am pretty sure you have a male. If it were a female, it is way too young to lay eggs. They can lay at around 6 months, but I have seen as early as 4. It looks older than 3-5 weeks though. It is probably digging in the substrate(which should not be in there) to get out. Substrate poses hazards to chameleons if injested intentionally or accidentally and that is why we do not use it. Your set up appears to be a fish tank which is less than suitable for a chameleon also. I am attaching a good caresheet for you to read and hopefully you will make the necessary changes to your chameleon's habitat to ensure it a long and happy life. I also noticed a water bowl in your cage. As a general rule they do not drink from standing water. Misting the cage or using a dripper is preferred.

Thank you. As far as the cage goes, here are some better pictures of the entirety of his setup. What changes should I make? The bedding is coconut husk that was included with the cage. As far as habits go, I've been feeding it four crickets every morning since I bought it, misting it heavy each morning, and turning the light off around 10 PM and back on around 8 AM. The temperature is always between 65 - 80

Please read the caresheet I gave you so you make sure you have everything you need. A habitat is its cage, not what you feed it or take care of it. But you should be offering more than 4 crickets daily. If he is eating all of those, then he is still hungry. He is growing and should be getting atleast 10-12 feeders a day. You should also get some different feeders besides crickets. Check our sponsors out and you will see some of the variety that is offered out there. I am a big fan of silkworms. I still would remove the substrate in the bottom. You do not want your chameleon eating that with a feeder by accident. You also need to add more vines and branches for climbing and more plants for hiding. A sturdy branch about 8 inches down below your basking light is ideal. If you can run it horizontally that would be best. I see you are using a terrarium. That is going to be ok for now as it does have the bottom ventilation, but your chameleon is going to get big and that cage will be way too small down the road.. Make sure you are dusting your feeder with calcium. This is all explained in the caresheet I gave you.
