dodolah, I really like your drainage system.
I always had wondered how exactly the easiest way to go about drainage would be. and that seems the best, just to have a metal grate type of stand and a Tupperware underneath to catch the water. Seems a lot simpler then others.
I thought it looked like a little pygmy chameleon, not some kind of Gecko, you would think that the website would have got the species right before posting the picture...
SO i saw this picture while i was aimlessly searching the internet today.
They claim that it is a Dwarf Geko, but to me when i look at its feet and eyes it looks like a baby chameleon.
What do you think?

I'm surprised with the Christmas season upon us that no one tried putting a Santa hat on their chameleon, or a chameleon in a Christmas tree or something.....? Would have gotten us into the Christmasee mood a bit.
completely agree! Just because an animal happens to be born different doesn't mean we should give up on them. I admire anyone who cares for these animals It takes a lot of courage and commitment to care for a special needs anything(pet/animal or person). Why not be sad for the death of animal...
How can you tell that she is mature?? (and are we talking mature as in full grown or mature as in could lay eggs??)
They believe her to be 4 months old.
So i got a call yesterday from a friend of mine. She had taken a chameleon from her friend because she could see the poor thing wasn't being taken care of properly. So she called to get me to come over and help her get the little guy on track.
It looks great for how it was treated. And...
Very cool looking chameleons
A quick general question about these guys. I think I probably already know the answer but just in case. Do the spots of white and such ever change position or color when fired up or anything? or are those spots the same all the time? or does it depend on the...
Don't suppose you ever come out to any of the western shows?? probably too far for your little guys?
There was one chameleon breeder at the show who had Jacksons for sale, but he decided to leave all his animals at home, just pamphlets and info. Honestly his booth seemed the plainest of all...
So last weekend I attended my very first reptile show, in Edmonton, Alberta.
Saw lots of snakes, geckos, lizards, and turtles, but unfortunately only one chameleon. Once i thought about why that was it made sense. It must be way to stressful to bring a bunch of chameleons out of their homes...
A few escapees I would not worry about.
I thought that we might have a whole in our cage because we would find 5 or so crickets hopping around our apartment when we got home each day, turns out the zipper of the flexarium was not closing all the way, once we fixed it they disappeared within...
I was just going to say i thought the ladders were kinda cool. Does your chameleon use them a lot?? Looks like the spaces between the bars would be big enough for him not to get stuck... for a 4 month old anyways, maybe not so much when it grows older?
Look at this poor little guy, I sure hope you can get him healthy again. It was great of you to save it. Can't believe people are so cruel.
On a lighter note I like Chamillionaire is such a cool name.
