These guys are doing very well in Florida. I've spotted a few, including a very gravid female in my backyard here in Fort Lauderdale. According to all records they should not be this far north. Sadly, they have all been way to high in the palms and bamboo to catch.
Yes, orchids are an addiction. I'm actually in the middle of breaking my stand down. Moving to Ft. Lauderdale next week so they are all being shipped down there to be grown outside.
My adult male veiled really seems to hate water. He's free range on my orchid stand, eats like a pig, but I've never actually seen him drink. Actually when I spray he runs away. I never spray him directly but have never actually seen him drink off the plants either. Anybody else have this...
Have any of you actually been to southern Florida? The area is over-run with non-native species, reptiles/birds/insects/plants…… It's pretty much a lost cause as far as keeping these in check.
yea, I figured I was safe as far as that goes. Now he's completely obsessed and looking everywhere for her. He's free range and usually does not roam. Not the case anymore.
While my chams were out during cage cleaning, my male veiled got ahold of my female jackson's. Not in the mean way, the carnal way. Anyone ever had this happening before? I had to place them under running water to break it up.
