Alright just curious since i cannot find a single darned thing on google and i have you wonderful people to assist me, I am on my first chameleon, she is a i am assuming 3-4 month old Yemen Chameleon and i have heard of outdoor basking, just curious as too how i go about doing that. I have her old Partial screen cage i can bring outside for her but i want to know a few things
1. How long can i keep her out there?
2.How bad will this stress her out, I do not want to bring her into a separate enclosure and have her freak out.
3. Should I just give her something to climb on obviously and chill out?

THank you everyone!

and sorry if someone has already posted this, i do not want to repeat anyone and upset anyone.

well depending on where you live and your temps you can keep her outside all day if you provide shade and water all day. She can bask when she wants and go in the shade when she doesn't want to be in the sun. I live in FLA and my two spend most of the day outside when it is not too hot. They have alot of shaded areas in the cage. The cage should have lots of plants, branches and vines just like your indoor cage.

Yeah I live in Wisconsin and the Weather is gorgeous here, I want to see her colors in this natural lighting it would be brilliant I'm sure. It is nice enough to have my two beardies basking outside so I would assume that it would be good conditions for her.

I arrange a bunch of silk leaved branches in a portable cage so I can move the entire thing around outdoors. Be conservative....always provide a very shaded hide area for your cham when outdoors. Safer to have it a bit cool and let her bask longer than overheat her. At first she may freak a bit because you just changed the view of her entire world. If you watch her to make sure she finds a spot she feels secure in, that's good. If she continues to roam the cage with stress colors bring her indoors.
