hi everyone,
my family and i went to the local shelter over the weekend and we are going to rescue this beautiful girl. we're going to bring her home this thursday. i haven't had a dog since my rottee died 5 years ago but my wife and kids wore me down. plus her cute face got me. :)

i honestly didn't think we would find a dog but this girl was so sweet and gentle that we had to adopt her. they say she's 10 moths but we'll get a better idea of her age and breed when we take her to the vet this weekend. she's supposedly a pitbull and terrier mix.

Thx everyone. I've never adopted a dog before. Ive always bought my dogs from breeders but it feels great to have rescued her. She's a sweetheart and we're so excited!

My three favorite types of dogs: pibbles, mixes, and RESCUES! We have three mutt rescues ourselves and I couldn't live without any of them. She will fill your lives with love and joy. With rescues, they usually end up rescuing us more than we rescue them. Congratulations on your new, beautiful girl!

My husband has had his eye on this poor little male brown spotted dog that has been seen in the walmart parking lot for 3 weeks now, and last night he tried his best to catch him and even enlisted the help of some other costumers and still could not catch him.....just pray that he doesn't end up dead on the highway.....wish he could end up in a shelter and be adopted....again thank you for saving the little girl you did.

Awsome!! She looks very sweet, good job on givin her a good home :)
My rotty Camber is my first love :)

You new addition is really a cutie! I have a rescue dog and she is the most loving creature I've ever owned. They seem to know that you are taking them from a bad situation to one that's much better. My only suggestion is that because you don't know her full background, is that the first time she needs her nails clipped that you have the vet do it. We did that with our girl - she had been abused and really freaked out, but they were equipped to deal with that. We then taught her (with a LOT of peanut butter!) to sit still and have her nails dremeled, instead of clipped. Best of luck with your new cutie and we'd love to see more pictures as she settles in with your family! :D

Thx everyone. We are so happy with her. We've had her for a few days now and I don't think I've ever had a dog so well behaved. She's settling in nicely and is very happy. The vet said they think she's a full pitbull. She's even more well behaved than my rottee and she was an amazingly nice dog. Here she is sleeping the day away. :)

That is a beautiful dog and what a great thing you did. Rescuing a animal gets infinite rep points in my book.
