    Devestated

Sorry to hear that :( Seems we both lost our little friends on the same day :-( Mine had been ill from the start of ownership about a month ago. Not good :-(

Looks like I might lose her :-(

The culture test has been done and the vet has said that she doesn't want to put her on the only antibiotic that might work because it will likely kill her. The debriding will need to be done apparently yes but she said it can't be healed over as there is no skin to stretch over. Sounds pretty...

Looks like I might lose her :-(

Well my female vieled who I've been treating basically since the word go has today been diagnosed with psuedomonus :( She has a deep absys on her snout which now looks like a third eye. The vet says pretty much all I can do clean it with F10 and cross my fingers because this kind of infection is...

    Cham skin micrograph

I own a couple of microscopes and I've had a little patch of shed skin sat in a testube for ages that I've been meaning to look at. Finally I've had the time to get the scopes out and have a look! This skin is quite old now, at least a few months and it still has quite a lot of opalessence going...

    Light period syncronisation?

No night lights no, they get a good dark quiet room at night. Time's have been adjusted and hopefully the vet can help with her tommorrow. She didn't eat yesterday and although she's obviously not half done or anything I'm eager to get to the vets!

    Light period syncronisation?

Yeah as soon as my wife pointed that out I thought I'd change my light times in there. I'll do that right away. They've JUST been moved out of much smaller plastic vivs that they'd been in since they were tiny. I am aware that these herptek's aren't a permenant solution. I think I'll be making...

    Light period syncronisation?

Okeedoke :-) Veiled chameleon female I think In my care for a couple of months or so (this problem started immedeately) She's toward the juvenile end of juvenile/sub adult No regular handling at all yet. I have handled her in order to treat her and move her ect though. Food wise she's...

    Light period syncronisation?

I'd be happy to fill out a form :-) Not that I can remember how that's done... lol

    Light period syncronisation?

No she's not wild caught but she is sick unfortunately. I've been treating her for an absys on her nose :( It looks like the Baytrill prescribed by the vet isn't helping so I'm back at the vets for the third time on friday. She seems very well in her self though surprisingly. She's very active...

    Light period syncronisation?

My wife just came down from the snake room saying she'd seen one of my Vieleds trying to sleep while the lights are on. She suggested that "it'd be dark by now where they come from" Now I knew about the twelve hour photo period but I hadn't aimed to get it in sync with Saudi! lol So it's been...

    Raining in the enclosure?

I spray my veiled chams once, sometimes twice a day but if it's likely to be of benefit to my chams I'd like to change the way I do things. I see people here mention under enclosure drainage. Is it better for my chams if I dream up a watering system that actually makes it rain in there for them...

    Enclosure height

Well I'm just about to go and give it a go. I'd be interested to hear what you guys have to say aswell though so please do comment! I'm also interested to hear about the way others are making it rain in thier enclosures but that's another thread! Which I'm just about to start I think......

    Enclosure height

Not possible. The tanks are in my snake room and there's no room for anything to be moved around. Hence my question on the height issue.... :-)

    Enclosure height

No it's not possible to do that. I can't raise them at all. As for drainage, I'm spraying them and allowing it to dry a little then spraying again. usuall once maybe twice a day. I'm in the UK. Maybe I'm missing something here am I?
