For any Jackson's keepers out there, what are your misting schedules like? I'm going to be setting up a Mistking shortly and wanted some suggestions:D

Depends what your average area/room humidity is..if it's in the 70% upwards if mist 3 times a day for around two mins each misting.

If in the region of 50s I'd suggest shorter gaps between misting and sessions would be of a min each say like every hour for 1 min with a couple of sessions having longer showers. This should help spike up the humidity without drowning the cage

I'm not really sure what my relative humidity in our house is. It's currently extremely humid outside here in Ontario, so we have the AC on in the house- which drops humidity. I need to get a new hygrometer and thermometer

Being in the Midwest, it's very humid in the summer and very dry in the winter. I have a very large cage (2x3x6) and good drainage system, and my Jax is very slow to start drinking and takes forever to clean his eyes, so I have a generous misting schedule.

8:00 AM - 15 minutes
10:30 AM - 5 minutes
1:00 PM - 10 minutes
3:30 PM - 5 minutes
6:00 PM - 5 minutes

He likes the long session in the morning, and during the day, since the time is always the same, he will either move toward the mister or move away depending on his mood :) Also, I don't change the times with Day Lights Savings Time (something dumb we do in the States). With several very leafy plants (pothos and schleffera), this keeps the humidity at 50% even in the worst conditions with higher spikes throughout the day.

I keep my xanths outside so I mist for long periods to allow for plenty of time to drink. Starting at 5:30am and repeating every 4 hours the mist system runs for 30 minutes. Babies and adults are on the same schedule.

Thanks guys! With such long misting times, how much water do you use a day? Also, would this same schedule be okay for my Sternfeldi?

My sternfeldi are caged right next to the xanth's and are on the same schedule.

I couldn't tell you how much water I use. There are 19 cages outside. My outside system runs off of the garden hose.
