jackson chameleon Help!

so ive been trying to feed this lil guy but he hasnt been wanting anything i give em. no mealworms, no crickets and thats pretty much all i got for him but still it doesnt make sense idk if hes depressed or just goin on a major food strike but hes been losing alot of his weight lately, someone please help!!! :eek:

So, a few things we need to know is, Age of your chameleon, Lighting, Housing, All the specifications that your chameleon is kept under.
I will try to find the form that people fill out for you to list it under.

yep i got him a few weeks ago and he was doing fine then, eating plenty, occasionally trying to escape and what not, idk if its his habitat that makes him mad i got him in a streched shallow 50 gal fish tank with a screen at the top and alot of branches in it and some fake leafs is that the problem?

may not be influencing his eatng...

no fish tanks!
there is no ventilation. and they need something that is tall, not long!

this needs to be fixed now!


get a tall screen cage!

and fill out the help form. please please please.

if you have the cage wrong, you could have something else wrong.

Ahhhh! major problem! Chameleons cannot be kept in fishtanks! They need air circulation!

Do you need something that big? No way, There are plenty of small cages, but that one is the closest thing to normal i have.

Certainly, This is a wonderful place to grown and learn as a chameleon keeper. I am grateful to the people here! Everyone is super nice and has treated me with the greatest respect. I thank you for taking the initiative to come on here and learn!

This form will go over all aspects of your husbandry, and give us a good idea of how the animal lives, and what if anything needs to be changed.
Please be as detailed as possible, including brand names, and any information you think is relevant.


Chameleon Info:

Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.


Cage Info:

Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
Location - Where are you geographically located?


Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.
