how much to feed female panther

hey just a question i have never really had an answer for is how much should i be feeding my 8/9mo female ambilobe.

i weighed her the other day and she is about 60grams

i used to feed her about 4 locusts 5 days a week and then miss 2 days

but just wondered about your preference?

I think that's too much, but I'm not a big expert though. I think 3-4 feeders (like crix, roaches) every other day.

This is what jannb told me about how much to feed my female panther. Also make sure to make the temperature the low 80's to prevent large egg clutches.

I have the same question...my panthers would be pissed if I gave her and him any less than 7-10 1/2" crickets day..they hunt and chase them all day I sometimes skip a day but they just stare at me waiting for food.

What happens if you feed too much?

Both males and females can have health problems from being overfed and the females life will be shortened if she lays large clutches to often.

Even a young chameleon can be overfed easily, although lots of people teach keepers to let half a year old chameleons "eat as much as it wants". Of cause you can't see their increasing abdominal fat pads from the outside, but not seeing it doesn't mean they're not there.
