How do people get imports?

So everyone once in a while I see people saying they just got a shipment of like 10 wild caught panther chameleons or whatever species they may be, but how does someone go about getting an import...just out of curiosity

They either buy from a wholesaler(who are Importers or they buy from Importers) or get an Import/Export License and buy directly from exporters in the countries that the animals come from(very expensive since usually a very high minimum order amount and shipping costs)

fill out a heck of a lot of paperwork and spend a considerable amount of money
