The one thing to remember is that it probably has nothing to do with her eye. Like you said, it is never a good thing when their eyes are closed. It doesnt mean something is wrong with their eyes, but that something is wrong. Now you have to play detective and find out what it is before it is too late. Did the person you buy it from give you any kind of warranty? You might want to consider giving her back. Almost every time i have had a cham with a closed eye they end up, well you know. It's really tricky because you have to find out first what the problem is. Check all the usual stuff first. The shower was a great place to start. Does she look dehydrated? Does she look like she has an eye problem? Like is there any swelling or bruising? If not, start looking elsewhere.

Find out if the person you bought the chameleon from used a linear uvb or a compact fluorescent uvb.

If she has an eye infection terramycin may work. She can also have something in her eye, or can have hurt it. Try and give her water, the vet I know says "like a rain, not mist" so I would try that. It usually helps get anything in ther eye.

You want to make it rain, not a mist. That should help if she has anything in her eye.
