Gecko Prolapse, please help *Warning Graphic Pics*

I'm not currently on any other forums and I know there are people here who are knowledgeable about crested geckos, so I figured I'd try posting here first.

I have 1.2 adult crested geckos housed together for breeding right now. They've been together for several weeks and I've seen successful copulation a few times. But when two of the geckos mated just now, I noticed that the male's hemipenes did not retract fairly quickly like usual. After looking closer, I'm wondering if it could be a rectal prolapse. Any input? I have moved him into a small tank by himself with moist paper towels, and I'm trying to decide what to do next. Should I try the sugar water thing or should I wait longer to see if he gets it back in on his own? It's been roughly 30 minutes since they finished mating.

Keep in mind I know nothing about crested gecko's. Based completely on experience with chams, I would do ice cold sugar water and try to assist him getting it back in. Let me know how it goes.

Ice cold? The temp of the sugar water was actually another thing I was wondering. I was thinking of using lukewarm water, but if you've used ice cold water with success on chams then I will try that.

After thinking about it I realized that cold water makes much more sense, thank Laurie. I've got him soaking in ice cold sugar water now. So far no change.

No, it's by jbscresties.com, she is stolenmilkcrate on YouTube and is a wonderful resource for crestie owners. Glad it's nothing more complicated! Check her website for more in-depth advice. My boy hasn't had any wang troubles so far!

I coated it with lube before I went to bed last night, and this morning he had gotten it back in on his own. I'm so relieved. Thanks for the help :)
