I'm not currently on any other forums and I know there are people here who are knowledgeable about crested geckos, so I figured I'd try posting here first.
I have 1.2 adult crested geckos housed together for breeding right now. They've been together for several weeks and I've seen successful copulation a few times. But when two of the geckos mated just now, I noticed that the male's hemipenes did not retract fairly quickly like usual. After looking closer, I'm wondering if it could be a rectal prolapse. Any input? I have moved him into a small tank by himself with moist paper towels, and I'm trying to decide what to do next. Should I try the sugar water thing or should I wait longer to see if he gets it back in on his own? It's been roughly 30 minutes since they finished mating.
