fischers chameleons?

how hard are fischeres to keep? would they be an ok choise as a semi-starter chameleon? i am getting my first chameleon but still have some chameleon experience when i pet sat my neighbors 3 panthers and 2 mellers and 1 parsons for a month, so i still have some experience with chameleons would this be a good choise or would another species be better? i was also thinking of getting a veiled if i couldn't find a fischers but if i dont see any veileds or fischers i like then i will wait for the NY show in september.

thanks for your answers
Juan

Juan, if you are just starting out keeping chameleons, keep panthers or veileds. A Fischer's would be considered an intermediate-difficult species to keep. They have a lower temp requirement, pickier eaters, need higher humidity and water availability, have a lower stress tolerance, and are sensitive to supplementation.

If however, the chameleon was captive-hatched or bred, your chances at keeping it healthy are greater. Beware they are not an easy cham to keep. Just my two cents! Good luck on the choice!

im also looking into carpet chameleons, because they look awesome and dont need a huge cage even though i will give it a 2'x2'x4' cage.

thanks again

Hi Juan,
we startet with pygmy chamaeleons, after them with panthers and now fischers. Now we keep a pair of panthers an some fischers (a male K. matschiei and a pair K. multituberculata).

If I summ up the time with these chamaeleons, I must say, the fischers are not harder to keep than panthers IF YOU CAN REALIZE temperatures at day at max 26°C (Fahrenheit ????; higher at the sun-point) and at night at max 20°C. Anything else it is not more difficult than panthers.
