Do any of you use fake flowers in your vivs to add colour ???

I had a stem of fake carnations in Lily's cage, but she wasn't a leaf muncher. On the other hand, Amy is a leaf muncher and I had to take them out when I caught her trying to eat them! Lily also had some large purple flowers in her cage that she liked to lean on while basking! Here's a pic (taken before she sat on them and squished them)!:D

If you really want colour then try to get hold of a Hibiscus plant - they have lovely edible flowers on them. I have 2 in Amy's cage but they won't flower in there!

I have a fake orchid that i put in to add some colour, saying that she wouldn't go near it and gave it the evils for the first 2 days!

I have a fake plant with my baby pygmies, to give them something to climb on. They're in a small cage while they grow a bit bigger, and a potted plant wouldn't fit readily. This is an aquarium/terrarium plant from the pet store, with a stable coarse gravel base. At night, everybody climbs up and selects their own leaf; some also like to head deep in the flowers.

There is nothing wrong w/ adding fake flowers for color. It is bascially all personal prefernce. The only things you should consider when using them, is if they are reptile safe? Meaning will they stand up to heat from heat lamps, water, and daily climbing. I recommend buying materials that will not break down if your chameleon munches on the silk.
