Commercial gutload

I just started feeding my crickets "flukers orange cube complete cricket diet" for wet gutload and "flukers high calcium cricket diet" as dry gutload. Does anyone know if these are good gutloads and do I still need to powder crickets with calcium? Thanks!

Caitlin, I also recommend looking into the repashy product line. I use their "Bug Burger" as my main gut load for all my feeders. It is both a wet and dry gut load so you don't need to give them water with it. I love it!

unfortunately, those are not good choices. Here is a link to a blog entry that lists some of the good commercial gutload choices:

Ok thanks, I was using them cuz they were given to me by an ex chameleon owner. I'll look into getting better stuff today. Thanks for the input

Is Zoo med natural cricket care ok? I've got some of that as well

perhaps better than the fluckers stuff, but still not ideal. You dont want wheat, soy or fishmeal as primary ingredients.

Have a look at the link I provided previously. Compare what you have to what is listed and I think you'll see the a difference.

Or use your zoo med stuff as a secondary product, with good fresh gutload as your primary gutload. things like papaya, oranges, arugula (rocket), dandelion leaves, mint, basil, carrot, butternut squash, spaghetti squash, as well as dry stuff like alfalfa hay, Spirulina powder, seeds, nuts, bee pollen ....
