Baby Veiled Cham

Hey all1 Just got myself a baby male veiled cham. He's about 3in long and I was wondering what i should use to feed him. Should I have him in a small small enclosure? Right now he is in this one...

Any tips on raising them this young?

If he is only 3" total length that 65 gallon Reptarium is way too big. How old is he? You should be feeding him crickets that are no larger than the space between his eyes.

He's a month old and i just got hime today. What do you suggest I keep him in? I have fruit flies for him and comparing him to the mini meal worms I got, I found that the mealies were too big.

I did buy a plastic tub that I was going to keep crickets in. So I put some large openings on the side and covered them with a mesh so the crickets would get more air circulation. if i put a hole in the top as well do you think that would be a little more suitible?

Hey you should have a look in the breeding section. Since your guy is still small enough, most of their housing techniques would apply. Here are a few links I found in there...

hmmmm that water jug idea seems like a good one. I may try that out when i get home from work. Anyone else think it would be good?

For a baby you want the highest of temps to reach no greater than 85 degrees, so in most cases a single reptisun 5.0 linear bulb will work.. sometimes if your room temps don't suffice you can use a 20-40 watt light bulb to warm things up a bit... careful they do over heat very easily

Hey, lilly if your in need of a small screen enclosure, i do have a fairly small one that i just took my panter out of . its 12" x 18"x 20" ...but that might even be to big.

so i got him in a one of those water jug cages and got the light up for him... only problem now is getting him to eat... i have fruit flies and left some in there and he doesn't seem to have any interest in them =( is there a better way i should be feeding him?

Right now he is just kindda perched up at the top with his eyes closed.

do you have any other food items? pinhead crix? dubia nymphs? you could offer those if you have them..

i have some small crix 2-3 weeks/ dubia nymphs you could have but you will need to order some for sure... He should be eating about 8-20 of those items a day

is there any place i can get them at a store... at this hour haha... i dont think petsmart has pinheads but they have small ones that i fed to my frogs

no, you wont be able to any pins or roaches from any stores that i know of... at this hour he should be sleeping anyhow...
