Outdoor Enlosure Build

Hi,
I'm going to post about an outdoor enclosure that I've been planing to build for over a year now. In January of last year (2011) we completely removed everything in our backyard except for one cactus. We then designed our new yard and hired a contractor to help make our dreams a reality. I wanted to be sure I had space in the design for my Chameleons of course:D,and designated two areas for cages.

One area is 12'x7' and the other is 12' x 3'.
My first build will be in the larger space.

I'm going to try and make these blend in with the overall theme of the yard.

The foot print of the enclosure was framed out with pressure treated 2x8 lumber and leveled.

Electrical and low voltage conduits in place and also a main water feed and a water feed from my sprinkler system.

I got started finally and decided to paint it the same color as my patio cover.

So I painted the posts with a slight distraction from the wifey

Here's the paint I used in case you wanted to know.:p

I had to take a break for a couple weeks as I have been busy with other things. During that time I decided to paint (actually stain) it a different color. So I bought some more 4x4's and stained the bottoms so I could get them cemented in the holes. I will use the painted lumber for another project.

I dug some holes and used post hole concrete to cement them in place.

Tomorrow I'm going to try and get the top framed out, do some sanding and hopefully stain it. But who knows it is Super bowl Sunday after all.

Hello! If you're still monitoring this blog, i'd love to see the pix (which are no longer hosted, apparently) of your progress-- I'm about to embark on a similar project :D
