Question What causes this?

My male has white head. It sort of looks like dry skin. He shead a week ago but I didn't notice if his head shed I thought it did. But cant exactly remember. Any ideas? Anything I need to do?

It's funny that you should ask this because I was wondering the same thing. My males head is almost entirely white, very pale compared to the rest of him. When I first noticed it I thought it was just because he was getting ready to shed. Well he shed ( head included ) and he's still pale.

I've seen that many times. I think its from low humidity. it doesn't have to be shed - reptiles can get dry skin at any time.

Did he shed all over? Veils usually shed in sections and it looks like his head will shed soon. Jann

If I were you I would mist more often and keep the humidity up. He looks like he has dry skin.

Its normal i wouldnt worry about it. Sometimes the edges on the casque will turn white or even black. But also keep in mind as veileds grow older they dont always shed all at once and many times their heads will shed and nothing else.

It is very common. My male veiled when he was younger looked like that alot. I think i posted a thread just like yours. He eventually lost it but alot of males have that for awhile. Just make sure that it isn't left over shedding of course and that your humidity is on the money. But if all is well yours could just be going through a phase.

Very common-there are at least a half dozen threads on this-one of them mine! Leon's whiteheaded phase lasted about 4 months-and now he has a colorful head again!
