Last week my male veiled got bit by my female during breeding, on his hind leg/thigh area. Ive been cleaning it and keeping an eye on it. Well i just went to clean it again and while i cleaning the wound and applying neoporin his skin came off. A big chunk from his thigh just slid off. i can see the white muscle and tissue. I dont know what to do! should I take him to the vet? will the skin grow back? Help!!!!

shouldnt even have to ask..if a portion of your leg fell off would you chill at home and hope it fixes itself, or go to the hospital..simple..

not so simple

I'm an er nurse and people ask the same questions all the time about humans. My dad just fell 20 feet out of a tree and is having difficulty breathing should I see a Dr?

Lets be a little less condescending and just gently guide people to do the right thing. We wouldn't want to prevent future questions by making people feel ashamed would we?

Just a thought.

Erm, I agree to some extent, but if your an er nurse and you've never been a tiny bit condescending in response to an idiotic question, then may I be the first to congratulate you ;)
Besides, it was a helpful analogy, maybe not even meant to be sneering. Certainly helps to convey the urgency of the situation to someone who seems unsure............

if you came to ask a question you shouldnt be ashamed..its not a stupid question, its just a question to me that has a common answer (most likley posting hoping someone has an easy fix) but everyone soon learns there are no easy fix for chameleons..

and if my tone seemed a lil sharp its only because it would be common sense for me and most that if say your dog, had his skin fall of his leg, you would immediatly go to a vet..i in no way mean it like "dumbass , go to the vet" more like "crap!, go to the vet now!"

i believe carol has this quote "common sense just isint all that common"

p.s. good luck at the vet and hope your cham heals good!

I just changed my quote today!!! But it still is true!!!!!

Wow that is such a dumb question. You shouldn't have wasted your time posting this a should have just ran to the vet. Oh yeah, was the skin still hanging off the leg or fell right off?
