I dont want to get to excited, but I sure know we can all use some good , happy news - so here it is
today was Troopers best day yet - he was green, not that nasty yellow he has been - moved from his vine to his "hammock" leaf - drank again on his own - still not wanting to eat, but one step at a time - when I was getting his " smoothie" ready, he actually walked off, and up the side of the tote, and shot my husband a nice stink eye he is still at 60 grams - so no gain , but no loss - we will take it before he just sat, and did not try to move away , or move at all - his tail , the bones and skin around them do not look infected as bad, but the hole beside the worst bone, the one he ripped open, is deeper - but less infected looking- so I think the Daynoflaxen is working on that - the URI - I do not see much improvement on yet- but, no worse either - I am cutting out one of his feeds to try to encourage him to eat on his own - but if he wont, I will add the feeding back-( * tube feeding is a LAST EFFORT used here- I only do this when I think death is right around the corner - I DO NOT recommend this if you can go any other rout - and if you do it wrong- it only takes one time and you will kill them - my vet taught me how to do this- even tho I had tubed about every other kind of animal, ( I do the critical care / tube feeding in our rescue ) but never a cham- so I did not even attempt this until I was TAUGHT by the vet a yr or so ago- just wanted to say this so no one tries to do this without being show BY A VET how to do it correctly - )
here are some pics to show the hole, sorry a bit blurry, but best I can do
and his back is starting to lose the skin, so I am sure we will see bone there but one issue at a time , and today was the first day I was so happy to give Laurie her " AM report" and one of him showing a bit of blue on his head again , he has been this odd yellow - but some color starting back on him oh, and his neck bite, is looking alot better too
I will do an update on the rest of the gang in the AM ( we have a snowstorm all day Sunday YAY, lol - so I can play with the chams all day )
I really hope he continues to get better - but he is still in a really delicate state , but looking up - he goes to the vet this week to take care of those darn bones ~
