My Son Tiger baby

I thought I would post up some pictures of my Son Tiger baby. His name is George (named by my kids), I got him in May and he has been great! He was the Alpha in his grouping and he has held true to his roots by eating a ton and being pretty ok with life. He will eat almost anything from my hand. Loves to hunt and will take down almost anything I put in his cage within reason. He also was trusting enough to take a worm from my 5 y/o son today:D

Thanks for looking and if anyone else wants to post other Son Tiger kids in this post feel free;)

This is one of DAD...hope the Kammers don't mind me using the pic

If you dont mind me asking who is the father is the Nosy Be your picking up from the Kammers? I am a long time fan of theirs and was thinking about picking up another little guy because the current panther I have is moving up to his larger cage very soon...

Quick question. How often should a baby Panther shed? I have had George for a little over 1 month and he has shed 3 times. I know he is growing but....wow! Every 2 weeks does that sound about right for a 3-4mo panther?

George is adorable and has such a gorgeous dad. There's no set rule for shedding. The faster they out grow their skin the more often they shed. I think shedding is a good sign that they are healthy. ;)

Thanks Jann! He is growing fast, he seems to be eating less but taking much bigger pray then he use to so I am sure the intake is similar. He is flashing a lot of blues these days just a few days after these pictures were taken. You would almost think he was a Nosy Be the way he is showing right now LOL

That's funny - my Son Tiger boy went through the same phase - for a while he looked quite blue and I thought I was going to end up with 2 blue panthers (already had a Nosy Be!). Of course I would have loved him regardless, but I wanted some red!!! He did not stay in the blue phase for long, and now he has lots of red! I think you will be shocked(and thrilled!) at what happens over the next 2 to 3 months!

George is getting some nice colors. He's one handsome little man! Can't wait to see him in a few more months. :)

So I got some pictures of George in his sleeping colors and you can see all the beauty that is sure to pop when he gets a little older. At times George turns in early I have been running his lights 13.5 hrs during the summer and some days he gets into his sleeping pose an hr or so early before lights out. He has had a very busy day because yesterday evening I moved him to a larger cage. He was in a baby 15x16x20 cage and I just moved him to his new Medium 18x18x36 and now he has to explore and find out what everything is about. He was a little unsettled this morning by spending most of the morning black barred and under his lights. But by this afternoon he was more himself exploring, eating from my fingers and had his hunger back.

these were taken with my Canon DSLR and a 100mm macro and ring flash:D

Sounds like a bit much to me, mine have shed about once a month at about that age. Make sure your humidity is up and that you're misting enough - excessive shedding could be due to the air being too dry.
