Size for new tank

So I know Pascal is getting bigger and with all the searching I can't seem to find what I'm looking for as far as an answer so I'm just going to ask. Below I have pictures of him now and as you can see he is clearly bigger than when I got him about a month ago I think he's doubled in head to tail distance but currently his tank is 16X16X24 which I know is small for his size but I also purchased a baby originally that unfortunately passed away because of my cat >-<. The question I have is I can get a really really good deal on a 20X20X36 cage and was wondering if that would be a suitable home for him throughout the rest of his life. I would be saving over 50 dollars if I buy that enclosure for him instead of the XL repti breeze one which is only a foot taller but same width being 20X20. I could always fabricate an extra foot on top if need be later on but I would rather save the money now seeing as how I tight for funds with my wife in Florida visiting her sick grandmother so I was going to surprise her with a new home when she gets back with Pascal in it. Another concern/question I have is now that he is a little older he seems to be more afraid of me than EVER, he always runs away unless its feeding time or If I'm wearing a yellow Bruins shirt lol (he's a fan too), the question is how do I get him out of the old home and put him in the new home safely? where would I put him while I'm getting his new home situated with the plants and fake vine/plant combination? Don't forget I do have a rowdy cat and dog that absolutely love to chase each other around my entire home. Any insight or advice will be GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thanks and once again below are pictures of him and current set up as of now.

Anyone have any ideas? Or some advice a lot of people have looked but no help yet sry for being anxious but i wanted to do this tomorrow because i have the day off from work.

The minimum dimensions for an adult veiled are 24x24x48. Bigger is better.

You don't want anything smaller than 2 feet by 2 feet by 4 feet tall. Hopefully you give him a good sized home for him to live in.

Also, I recommend buying a live ficus to put in it so he has a live plant to climb in

I agree. 24X24X48 is minimum. I made most of my own cages, which saved me a lot of money (each cage cost ~$35 all told minus tools). If you do not want to try that, then I would suggest searching for a used one in the local classifieds or craig's list. I recently bought an XL Reptibreeze for $20 from my local classifieds. My Jackson is stoked!

I also second the live plant. Veileds eat greens all the time and I know mine love the hibiscus buds.

Heres a quick question, how do i take him out of his old home to put him in the new home safely with my cat and dog im probably going to put them in a spare locked room but i dont want to over stress him with the move. Like do i just leave him in the old tank for now set up the new one and then move the stuff over one thing at a time? Ive never had him out before so i dont know how he'll take it

Well, just take out his things and tie them into the new enclosure one at a time. Buy some new branches because you'll definitely need them. Also get a live plant like a ficus, put it in there, and once you get him off the last thing inside the cage, place him in the cage with all your transferred items and onto the plants.

That's how I would do it

The live plant im going to have to wait until friday to do just because of funds right now but im certainly getting him one soon im more concerned about how to get him out of the old cage safely, like he runs from my hand now ive only had him on my hand once in the month that ive had him so i dont want to really freak him out either ya know im thinking for now just take out the fake plants and put those in first and then take him out on a vine or something along those lines maybe then ill leave him be and introduce the live plant towards the weekend
