I don't have money to take him to the vet, unfortunately. Broke college student here :(
I've had him for a little over 2 years and this is the first time I've seen him like this. I got him another UV light and hydrated him but he's still pale. However, he looks alert. I'm not sure what's going...
Hi everyone,
Today I noticed my chameleon Raijin looks pale. I'm not sure if this is a sign he's dying as it looks like he cant produce his color. He is a nosy be and should be blue. Here's a photo from earlier. He also appears weak. I took him outside to hydrate him but I'm not sure what else I...
hi everyone. I made a thread here about 5 months ago asking if people knew what my chameleons gender was. Well, Raijin is a boy which is awesome because I wanted a male. But as he has gotten bigger I noticed he only remains one color. I assumed he may be a nosey be but he isn't the blue color...
@alphakenc My boy is puffed up in that photo lol. Even sticking my hand to put he crickets in there and he climbs away quickly. I always knew veiled chameleons are aggressive to an extent but mine is really mean and hisses a lot. But he's cute so I keep him anyway lol
Did the last owner ever give it water?
They don't drink standing water by the way. The cage has to be misted.
That's a sign of dehydration as above user said.
older strip lights don't produce UV. I think UV lasts about 6 months and after that it's time to replace them! Good luck and I hope your chameleon gets better.
have you changed your UV light recently? Though the light may work, after a while they don't produce UV. I had a veiled chameleon before the one I have now that died only after a few months of having it because my UV light wasn't producing any.
Without UV they can get weak and die.
Do you...
Sometimes I see a bulge and sometimes I don't :') so this guessing is annoying lol. My boyfriend and I agreed male, then he changed his mind and said female, but I still feel uncertain. I feel aroind 2 months Is old enough to determine gender...
I tried to take some better photos. Currently; Raijin is in a butterfly net cage like thing with a UV strip light fixed on top. Some branches to climb. We already have another cage waiting for him/her to live in when it's a little bigger. We will also provide a misting system like we do for our...
all these comments are awesome! I'm new as well and liking this forum.
When I got my veiled chameleon, he was a baby so I "cup fed" him since his cage was huge and I didn't want the crickets to run around and him not find them :D
Your chameleon looks like female. They have bumps on the back...
*sigh
That's a little disappointing. Female panthers aren't vibrant like the male. Also, they lay eggs and that is something I've never experienced, with getting a sand container and what not. Well, I guess there's a first for everything :D
hey everyone! I am new to this forum so I apologize in advance if this is the wrong section. I am a member of another forum but not chameleon related so I know it can be annoying to post in the wrong area
Anyway, in November my boyfriend bought a baby Panther chameleon from his boss at the pet...
