Looks really clean and easy to care, just like mine! :)
I do recommend more foliage, I've posted a picture of mine and ended up covering all 3 sides with plants so you see the wooden "fence" only at the bottom.
Other than that, some branches, as you were saying you're going to do, and that...
Your mother is really talented :) Fantastic work.
I always love to see what people do with their other hobby after it has been influenced by chameleon keeping :)
Cheers!
When I first got Apollo I tried searching everywhere for what his coloration means in order to better understand what he wanted to tell me. Turns out every chameleon is slightly different, albeit having some common characteristics. In a couple weeks/months you will know what he needs by looking...
I've had Apollo with me for about 2 months now. He eats from my hand sometimes, others he just gives me the stink eye. They are quite moody creatures :P I suggest trying to hand feed and be patient. First time he ate from my hand took me about half an hour holding a dubia (which he loves), after...
Your veileds are the example of a properly cared for and happy chameleons. If Apollo turns out to be like them, I can consider myself a happy and successful keeper :)
I really love all photos of your chameleons!
Cheers Jann!
I can't really say that my mate Apollo is too much hard work, honestly! But then again, I've invested a lot into a nice cage, misting system, timers, and other things that make the upkeep almost automatic.
I do have to say that I check everything up every single time I get back home, but that...
Every picture I see of the "different" chameleon species makes me even happier that I got into the hobby. These guys really are amazing creatures!
Cooper looks wonderful! I really love the ancient look that parsons have :)
Cheers Jann and Cooper!
I really like this idea. Being a novice at reptiles and chameleon keeping I'm always stressing to see if Apollo is okay and i'm always triple checking everything to see if I can prevent anything that can cause him problems from happening. I really can't help you very much on adding any...
Thanks! I was quite in a panic cause I really want him to be happy there! :)
Well, the screen is doing a not so good job keeping medium crickets in, but I bet it does good with adults, I guess I'll have to cup feed for 2 or 3 months, then I'm allowed to free range :)
Hello everyone!
I got Apollo's new cage two days ago, and spent most of my time setting it up.
I've got a misting system going on 4 times a day for 3 minutes at a time and the temps (household bulb) are ranging from 29ºC to 34ºC, are those okay for a 5 month old? the average is around 32ºC...
She looks adorable enjoying a sunny day! :) My cham, Apollo, loves hanging out in my balcony when it's sunny! He will stay there for hours if I let him :P
Apollo, my male veiled, who is still 4-5 months old usually is darker on the side that is catching all the light from the basking bulb. So one side is dark green/brown while the other is almost lime green :)
Chameleons really are wonderful little creatures!
I've just read up on the incandescent thing and I'm really thankful I asked the question. I'm now on my way to buy a new bulb for Apollo!
In the long run, it will even run cheaper for me.
Again, this forum amazes me, great comunity and knowledgeble people willing to share without any kind...
