    Panther mouth ulcer

Took my 6 year old (I was sure he was older than that!) panther to the vets today. He has a small abscess on the inside of his lower jaw, possibly from an insect bite. The vet cleaned his wound and he got prescribed Baytril, 0.1ml every couple of days for a fortnight. Does this sound like...

    Panther v Jackson’s enclosure

Thanks for the great info! Some of that stuff I knew, had or do - I just forgot to mention it in my initial post! I’ll be sure to get a humidifier for nighttime humidity. Is there a humidifier you recommend? A silent one would be ideal as my reptiles live in my bedroom! Thanks

    Panther v Jackson’s enclosure

Hi, I’ve had a Panther chameleon for almost 9 years - he is amazing! He has a 2x2x4ft screen enclosure with devils ivy plants and an exo terra monsoon misting system. He gets misted for 2 minutes, 4 times a day. He has a dripper that he happily drinks from. His basking spot is set to about 30...

    Dripper Issue

I'm actually a wheelchair user. My dripper is on the inside of the cage on a large exo terra lamp stand, with the base underneath one of my pothos' pots. Works perfectly for me. Hope this helps

    Eye issue

Oh no, I'm really sorry. I hope he recovers. I think I'll take Starr back to the vets and ask if she'll do a blood test. The vet I went to initially is the only reptile vet in my area, so it may have to be there, seen as it's sounds like it's not a neurological issue as she diagnosed.

    Eye issue

The drops I got are called tiacil. I didn't note where you're from, if the US, it might have a different name. I hope you get on ok. Keep us posted how you get on!

    Eye issue

The eye issue that responded to the eye drops was directly before this eye drooping problem. As soon as he started opening his eye properly all the time, that's when the eye drooping when eating began. The uvb is 2/3 inches from the top of the cage and a further few inches above the basking...

    Eye issue

Yeah sorry, I should have said, the low 90s is directly under the light on the top of the mesh. On the actual basking branch I imagine the temps are much lower. He doesn't get any heat at night, he did when I first got him though, until I read not to on here. His cage is positioned so that the...

    Eye issue

Hey guys....so I have a problem.... Chameleon Info: Your Chameleon - Starr is a 16 month old panther chameleon. I've had him from being like 3 months old. Handling - he waits for me to open the cage in the morning, and comes straight on my hand, so for a few minutes almost every day...

How do i give a chameleon eye drops?

So I contacted where I got my chameleon from (chameleoco - www.chameleoco.co.UK) and Simon's advice was to either turn the chameleon upside down and he'll open his eyes or to put a drop on the closed eye slit and when he eventually opens his eye, the drop will go in. I've not tried either just...

How do i give a chameleon eye drops?

I have the exact same problem at the minute. As soon as I go near him with the drops, he either shuts or moves his eye to make it more difficult. My reptile vet is on holiday too... I was one of her last appointments before her holiday! I'm fairly sure I've not got any in his eye yet since I...

    Sleep cycle

I believe a 12 hour on/off period is fine, that's pretty much what I use too. My light are on from 7am, my monsoon rain system comes on at 7:15am. My uvb goes off at 7pm and my basking lamp off at 8pm, purely so I can get another misting in before bedtime (7:15)! Hope that helps

Does my Cham have a respiratory infection?

Hey man, Is your cham alright now? What was it? I have a panther who's getting towards 1, who gapes every now and again and, like yours clicks every now and again whilst being handled, even though he appears to be quite happy being handled! I'd be interested to find out what you...

    Intelligence in chameleons?

cham intelligence I generally tip my panther, Starr's food on the bottom of the enclosure, which is opposite my bed. He generally now waits for me at the bottom of the enclosure to feed him in the mornings! However, he couldn't quite figure cup feeding of silkworms, but being a fairly...

    disposing of unwanted livefood

So I thought I'd treat my gecko and my panther chameleon and get different some live food. I was advised that curly winged flies could only jump, not fly and that both the aforementioned would like them. Anyway, my cham isn't bothered but wont eat them and my gecko is positively freaked out by...

    humidity for 4 month panther

Hi, I have my hygrostat half way down my vivarium and usually obtain a humidity reading of between high 50s and low 80s percent using an Exo Terra Monsoon automatic mister set for 2 minutes every 8 hours. I have 3 plants in my Starr's home as well as 3 sides of the viv covered with acrylic to...
