    Chameleon size and MBD???

I prefer Coastal Silkworms. I've had mixed results with Mulberry Farms.

    Drainage problem. Need help.

Don't know who would make a 16x16x20, but I know you can get a drainage tray that your cage sits on. So the water drains out of your cage into the tray. They come in standard sizes too, but I would assume you could still sit your cage on a 18x18 tray. There would just be an inch around it that...

When do you go against the advice of a veterinarian?

That is a tough question. And there probably isn't a good answer to apply to all scenarios. I think there are a lot of experienced, well informed, well intentioned people in forums such as this. And hopefully people don't get offended by this, but some with a certain level of arrogance. I was a...

    please help

Never done it myself, but I've heard of some people soaking there branches to clean them then baking them in the oven to dry them and kill anything that may be there. Usually, I just make sure I get them from a pesticide free tree or plant then power wash them and let them dry out. I've never...

    Sharing My New Ambanja

Just wanted to say congrats on the little guy. He looks awesome. My first chameleon was an ambanja a long time back. Brings back memories. I'm sure yours will make you really happy. Make sure to post some pics as he grows up.

    Not Growing. HELP ASAP

I am not an expert by any means, but by looking at his picture, he doesn't seem like he is under fed. And while I agree that maybe his temps might be a little high in his basking area, I don't see why that would stunt his growth. And they aren't that far off from ideal assuming those are basking...

    Conformation of set up

For heat, any basking lamp should do. Just make sure you get a regular light, not an infrared bulb. If your temps are dropping below 55 or so at night, then you can try a ceramic heater to warm him up a little. But remember, you want a drop in temp at night to aid in his digestion. Sounds like...

    Conformation of set up

My favorite plant to use is a schefflera, or umbrella plant. You can get them pretty cheap at Home Depot. They are great for catching water droplets for your guy to drink.

    Conformation of set up

I am wondering why you are using the red light. I know some people will use them for night time, but it's really not recommended. Also, from looking at your setup, I was not noticing a UV light. Is there a UV light on there? Need to make sure he's getting proper UV lighting. And he may just be...

    Drippers

Pretty sure you can just use the ones you find in the aquarium supplies section at any pet store. The same ones you would use to adjust the air flow. Either that or I'm sure they have something like that at Home Depot in the area where they sell mister and drip system parts for your garden.

    Handling

I think for the most part, chameleons are best observed and not handled. So I handle most of mine only when I need to. I do enjoy hand feeding them on a regular basis. But I don't think there's one good answer to your question. I have 5 chams right now. All male panthers. Don't really handle...

    Cricket crack for silkworms

I have never heard of anyone doing that. The only thing I know of that they eat besides mulberry leaves is silkworm chow. And if they are accustom to eating leaves, it's hard to get them to eat the chow. I seriously doubt they would eat cricket crack.

    Chameleon color?

Hard to say what his colors mean. All chameleons are a little different in that respect. Rule of thumb though is darker colors usually are a sign of stress. From the picture you posted, his colors don't look stressed. But in my opinion, he doesn't look too healthy. He appears to be dehydrated...
