Hello All,
Sadly, I am looking to re-home my female Parson's due to our living situation changing very soon. She is now 5 years old and was CBB from Chuck at Heroic Chameleons. She is incredibly healthy, eats well, has never been bred, and is homed outdoors for 7 months out of the year up...
Will you have a misting setup or mist by hand? Overall it looks pretty good. Can't tell if you have substrate in there or not but that can cause impaction in chameleons if you aren't careful. What species will you keep in there?
I would venture to guess that it may be too smooth for them to climb up the sides of the PVC. You may need to rough it up with a wire wheel in a cordless drill. That will give them texture to cling to. I like the idea of using the PVC. Just be sure you clean it thoroughly before feedings as...
If you are finding him to be incredibly active around his cage in the morning it may be because he is on the hunt for more food. I wouldn't be too concerned at this point. If this activity was happening in the middle of the night when he should be sleeping that may be a different story. Your...
This vivarium is awesome. I would still have to lean toward dart frogs for this habitat because it looks so awesome with the pools of water from previous pics. Great job setting this up. As it matures it will only get better.
He is gorgeous. Vincent is still producing some incredible animals. I am excited to see how this guy looks after he calms down and warms up a bit. Be sure to post more pictures.
If you want to give more vitamin A to your chameleon you can use fish oil. I puncture the gel cap with a syringe and squirt it onto a cotton swap or a dubia. You only want to do this about once a month because too much vitamin A is also problematic.
How long has it been since he has eaten? He may be on a small hunger strike. A lot of times hornworms are a great way to pull them out of it. If it has only been a day or two I wouldn't worry.
I would try to breed them if I were you and get some hornworms to feed off. I would think the moths would be safe but I will let someone else chime in who has fed them off before. They are really big moths though. What species of chameleon do you plan to feed them to?
Congratulations. It is always a fun time when the eggs start to hatch. I loved hatching eggs from WC imports because you never know what you may get as they mature. Keep the pictures coming.
Take the big guys and girls and separate them to start a small colony. Once they breed and the oothecas hatch you will have your own nymphs. It is unfortunate that the company didn't send what they said they would. As for your cham showing interest, try placing them on a branch somewhere...
I live in Washington State as well. There is not a need for day and night heat as long as the ambient temperature of the room stays in the high 60's. As stated already, purchase a UVB light and fixture for yourself and get calcium supplements as well. It is important you do this right away to...
