The biggest issue with this is that as others have said, if it is a bite cat mouths are full of bacteria. If you are unable to get it fully cleaned, and you use neosporin or the like, you run risk of trapping bacteria and making things worse.
I have 7 crested gecko hatchlings and one juvie currently available. I am in the KCMO area, and would prefer local pickup to shipping. (I have never shipped before, but *might* consider it if someone were willing to give me detailed advice on doing so.) I would like $30 each for the...
I didn't fully read everything, but you want to use neosporin WITHOUT the pain relief-just plain neosporin (or comparable triple antibiotic ointment without pain relief).
I do!! I've got five hatchlings and seven more eggs, as well as probably two more clutches in the next couple weeks.
Ya gotta be careful though...you can't just get one cause they are addictive!
I have had Comet now for a month, and I think he's doing great as far as weight and appearance. His casque has filled out, and no longer holds water when I spray him. Here is an updated pic from last night when he was sleeping:
The wound on his 'hand' is from when he was feeling...
Just wanted to update that Comet's hand is healing nicely! He never seemed to be bothered or impaired by the bite, and let me clean it up and put neosporin on it with no issue.
I will definitely keep you updated! This is the cham that I traded an aquarium for three weeks ago, very underweight and dehydrated. He has come so far in the last three weeks!
I definitely won't be leaving it open to run into the other room any more now that I know he is keen to explore!! I didn't even think to call the vet and ask, I will do that tomorrow. I knew cat bites weren't to be messed around with, they get nasty fast!
Thank you!
Comet decided yesterday that he was going to explore, and left his cage on his own (he's never seemed interested in leaving on his own accord, had the front opened so that I could get him some crickets)...He found the rat cage and apparently thought it would be a good place to climb. One of the...
As everyone has said, super easy reptiles! No light/heat needed, temps over 80* for too long can stress out and even kill them. Baby food is NOT sufficient, though some people will tell you it is. I have a female that I rescued, fed nothing but baby food till I got her, and she has a curve in...
I have had this guy now for a week and a couple days. Here are some new pics of him outside:
Have another question-how often should they poo? Today was the first time he has since I got him last Wednesday. And it looked quite a bit different from the poo of my little Ambanja girl...
Yes, he is in a 36x18x18 mesh enclosure until this weekend when we can build a larger screen enclosure.
My main concern with him right now is to get him healthy. He definitely tears up some food! I have been dusting his crickets. The sad part is the guy I got him from is a breeder and sells...
OK, hopefully this works:
Another question-I am under the impression that tap water is OK for chams? I have crested geckos, and use distilled water for them as they aren't supposed to have tap, so I was just going on the same basis for the chams as well.
The pic is not showing up for me, here is the link to it on my FB:

I picked this guy up in a trade for an aquarium that I didn't have a use or the room for any longer. I was told he is a Masoala panther, two years old. He seems to be on the thin side in my opinion. I saw another thread regarding the pads, and see that his are rather...diminished. Right now...
