Bad aim - vit A treatment options?

Hi everyone, Kepler is doing well, besides the fact that his aim is horrible. A few people on these forums have mentioned that Vit-A is a treatment option for tongue problems and I was wondering if that would possibly help with his bad aim. I currently have a supply of Repashy VitA+ and...

EMERGENCY - Kepler having inner ear problems?

Kepler was 100% normal today; he ate and drank like normal. In the middle of the night I hear a noise from his cage and go over to investigate. I find that he's fallen over in his sleep, turning the room lights on here's what it looked like (enhanced brightness): He wasn't moving so I...

    orange poo?

I had Kepler outside today for a short period of time while I cleaned his cage (~95-100F)...I was holding him suddenly felt all of his claws dig into me to the point where it became painful. I forced one of his hands off of my finger and noticed that he was still squeezing like a madman. I...

    Kepler's color evolution (pic heavy)

Hey everyone, Kepler is just over 1 year old and I wanted to share some pictures of how he's colored up throughout the months. He's a very mild tempered blue bar amilobe from TikiTiki. The day we got him: May 15, 2011 stressin on June 25, 2011 eating on July 26, 2011 he...

    bad aim

I've been noticing lately that Kepler's aim is not that great. His tongue always shoots a bit too high and it seems to be causing him some frustration since he rarely gets the kill on the first try. He often has to get quite close in order to make the catch. Has anyone encountered this with...

    Silkworm moths - now what?

I got a bunch of Silkworms a few weeks back from mulberry farms. Unfortunately my cham wasn't quick enough to eat all of them and I ended up with about ~7 cacoons that just started to emerge. I now have 4 beautiful white moths...now what do I do with them!? I've read that they don't eat...is...

mucous 'throw up' after too much water?

Has anyone experienced their chameleon 'throw up' a goo'y clear mucous after a long drink? I've been reading about URIs and he doesn't seem to be presenting any of the other symptoms. Plus he's only done this twice; both times after a long drink while he was outside (temps ~70-75 in the shade).

    Kepler's eye bulging while sleeping

I just noticed tonight that his eyes are very bulgy during sleep. He's been fine the past couple of days so I'm kind of worried since I've never seen this before with him. Also searching the forums doesn't turn up much on night bulges =( These are the best pics I could get given the...

look what I found in my cricket box...

I was getting some crickets to feed my cham and noticed a long tail protruding from the egg-crate, this little guy popped out of it! Looks like some sort of gecko, anyone have ideas on what kind? And should I let it go or let it live with the crickets for a bit? =p

I think this is an eye infection - can you verify?

While feeding Kepler today I noticed his left eye looked a little odd: I was looking around the forum and it looks as though it's an eye infection, but I just wanted to make sure. The annoying part is that I literally just had him at the vet THURSDAY, and less than 2 days later he's got more...

Kepler thinks his legs are branches...causing falls

Hi everyone, Kepler has been grabbing his own legs lately thinking they are branches. I first noticed it a few weeks ago but didn't pay much attention to it, but lately it seems to be getting worse. I found him caught in a pretzel once where his hind legs were both grabbing one another and...

    keeping a schefflera

I've had a schefflera for a few months now and it seems to be a bit cranky. I've read not to water them too often as well so I've cut back on that. Has anyone had a great deal of success keeping these as house plants? Mine unfortunately has no indirect exposure to sunlight so that could be...

    kepler doesn't like superworms

At what age should one start offering superworms? I've been trying with my ~5 month old amilobe and he refuses to eat them. I know he's hungry because as soon as I put crickets in there he goes nuts. I'd like to offer him a varied diet, and I hate wasting money on these damned worms. Maybe...

    ghetto table top free range

I do a lot of work at my desk throughout the day and wanted to spend more time with my little guy, so I went to Michaels and threw together a $10 free range. Granted it's only going to work for a few more months since he's so small, but it's a start! He'll probably spend the majority of his...
