Don't forget that the Ambilobe Locale (Morph) is divided further into Red and Blue barred.
I am new to this also, so I do not know if Blue Bar parents can produce Red Bar offsprings or visa versa. Or even the results of mixing the 2....do you get Purple barred offsprings?
I am sure one of the more experienced breeders will be able to answer that soon.

haha its not straight cut like that. Depending on your goal, probably any ambilobe female would do so you could say all the ofspring are "ambilobe"
good luck with going after a certain look, it aprears many ambilobe breeders have had some difficulty to reproduce the same look ,they come out rather varied. red bars, blue bars, green bodies, red bodies, ect

thanks for your posts. When i want have higher chance to blue bar ambilobes in case that my boy will be blue bar .... i need found female which have blue bar father isnt it ?

Thanks.

Masafi ?

Blue-bar Ambilobe males bred to blue-bar lineage Ambilobe females will produce blue-bar offspriong. After that, all bets are off !

Bill Love was the first to bring the Ambilobe Locale to light about 7-8 years ago, labeling animals he had photographed in that region as being in that region ! Not that others didn't collect there from time to time, but it was before Locales were the more popular way of labeling, and before Locale specificity became demand. In the 90's, it was more "red, blue, yellow" etc. The first Ambilobes into this country labeled as Ambilobes arrived in 2001 (you are Welcome !). At the time they had also been given the designer name "Picasso" (wasn't me) by an exporter in Madagascar. Bill Love hoped to quell the dispute by naming them after the sugar company that owned much of that land, since it was outside Ambilobe where he had first photographed them, that being The Sirama Sugar Company. Hope that helps !

The father helps - but that leaves her mom unaccounted for. If you can see what the dad and some of the brothers look like, that might give you a better chance.

thank you very much for your posts ... help me a lot ... now is my problem much more clear ) and i know what i should have try find .....
